After a long break, director Susi Ganesan is busy finishing off his latest release ‘Thiruttu Payalae’, which will follow on from his previous releases ‘Virumbukiren’ and ‘Five Star.’ ‘Thiruttu Payalae’ stars Jeevan (from the film ‘Khaakha Khaakha’) and Sonia Agrawal in the lead roles and also features Malavika and Vivek in the cast.
The music is being produced by Bharathwaj. When asked about the film at a recent press release, Susi comments “it is a romantic thriller. I ensure that my movies should be different and reach the masses well. ‘Thiruttu Payalae’ is no different from this.” And on his reason for choosing Jeevan as the hero “the hero has shades of villain in him in the movie. I felt Jeevan is the appropriate man for the role.” And on Vivek “Watch out for Vivek in the movie for he has attempted something different to evoke humour.”
The audio launch of Susi Ganeshan’s Thiruttu Payale was unique in many ways. Producer Kalpathi S.Aghoram and Susi came up with an idea to premiere the songs of the film on Sun TV, so that they reach out to a wider section of audience, sitting in the comforts of their homes.
And what better day than Republic Day, as the makers was able to get a captive audience on a public holiday at 5.30- prime time. The cast and crew of Thiruttu Payale like Jeevan, Sonia Aggarwal, Susi Ganeshan, lyrist Vairamuthu, music director Bharadwaj were present and each one of them presented their favourite song from the album.
Four out of five songs were shot in Australia and the pick of the lot was “Poi Solla Pore…” picturised on Jeevan and Sonia. A remix of the old MGR classic “Chinna Payale…” became Thiruttu Payale... which is also a catchy number. And a Karakattam song picturised on white women from Australia as belly dancers is another attraction. One the whole the songs in Thiruttu Payale are sure to rock and three cheers to the makers for this innovative idea.
