Dhanush-starrer Polladavan team were on the look out for a new heroine. When probed, it indeed turned out to be true. Some reliable sources said that new face Poonam Bajawa’s performance was not up to the mark. When few scenes shot with her were screened, the director and team were not too happy with the outcome. This strongly called for an immediate replacement.

Initially Trisha was approached for the role but as she was busy juggling with various projects she is said to have rejected the offer. But after much cajoling and coaxing she is now convinced that the role is tailor-made for her and has accepted the offer. The team has heaved a sigh of relief with Trisha showing the green signal for joining the Polladavan unit.

[Dhanush] Pollathavan is the film which exposed Rajini Kanth in an excellent role. This low budget film directed by by Muktha Srivasan became the 80’s biggest commercial hit. Now Dhanush, son-in-law of Rajnikanth has used the same title for his forthcoming film. Yesterday, the shooting of the film started with the usual inaugaration at AVM Studios. Vetri Maaran, an associate of director Bhoopathy Pandian has written the script and he will be handling the screenplay and the direction of the film. Veyyil fame G.V.Prakash will be composing the music for the film.

The film has been produce by ‘Group Company’, a new film production company in Kollywood. Sources said that Dhanush and Boopathy Pandian have started this company. Director Vetri Maaran says, ‘I’m not ready to stell the usual lie as the film is a different one. The story is very simple but the screenplay will create the magic among the fans. Now Dhanush got his rhythm. So I would like to utilize this when he is hot’
