Vettaikaran is being directed by
debutant Babu Sivan, a former associate of masala filmmaker Dharani. Vettaikaran
is said to be a family entertainer with all essential ingredients that mass want
in a Vijay's film. Vijay is pairing up with the glamorous Anushka for the first
time in Vettaikaran for which the shooting has started in November 2008.
The initial shoot of the film took place in Rajamundhry in Andhra, which has the
best greenery in south. Vijay’s son Sanjay has done a dance number with Vijay
shot by cameraman Gopinath. A lesser known fact is that Kamal Hassan too made
his debut as a child artist in the film Kalathur Kannamma produced by AVM.
Shobha, who excels in mass song choreography, is doing the introduction song of
Vijay in front of an Ayyanar temple set. The song tuned by Vijay Antony is a
high energy peppy fast number with lyrics by Kapilan. This is the first time the
actor is doing a movie under the AVM banner. This film is to be released in
Deepavalli celebration with Ajith`s Asal.
